Fresh Ingredients:  That last boxed kit you ordered online might have been on a shelf for 2-3 years before showing up at your doorstep.  While bulk purchasing and storage can lead to lower prices, some items may find themselves forgotten about and stale by the time you receive them.  At the Bx Beer Depot, we order our product often to ensure freshness.  Our yeast arrives monthly, and we discard old packages of liquid yeast.  Anybody who has purchased a dud bag of White Labs or Wyeast will understand how important this is.  Our hops are ordered in Nitrogen Flushed Vacuum Bags, and if repackaged, will only be on the shelf for a short period of time; this means brighter flavors and better beer!

Proper Storage:  We store our ingredients in airtight containers, in air conditioning.  There is no need to worry about grain bugs, humidity, or staleness in any grains we sell.  All hops are kept cold to increase shelf life (Does that big warehouse you like do this?).  Yeast is kept cold and is cycled to ensure freshness.  We know how important your beer is, so we take steps to make sure its ingredients are handled with care.

Education: The mission of our business is to increase the appreciation of handcrafted, quality food and drinks through socialization and education.  Those of you who have been to past events know that we try to have education at any event we hold, from Larry Bell speaking about his beer during a tap takeover via Skype to Cigar City showing up and explaining how they age beer on wood, we want education to be paramount.  We offer monthly homebrewing classes, and bi weekly beer judging classes for those who want to increase their beer knowledge.  Over the next year our goal is to increase the amount of classes we teach throughout the year.
